Great guide, helped loads for me in replacing some tunes with my own. Do you know if combat tunes continue beyond 01006? I've got loads more I want to add.

well its a pretty good guide! i love the music of X series, and i think it really adds to the whole package for immersion sake...

it has given me a new appreciation for Spacemusic in general

now i got this hair-brained idea

here goes:

would it be possible to add music without changing any of the existing music?

what i wanted to do is add variety, but not change tracks

the idea is to add tracks starting at one higher number range than the designated number ranges for each category

so if the last track for ambience in system was for example, 01004...

would it be possible to add another track named 01005 and expect it to play at random (not really worried about sectors specifically, just wanted to add some really good ambience and combat stuff in, and boy do i have plenty of tracks to add that would compliment the original score nicely)

Thanks for your appreciation. I've no idea if it's possible to extent the amount of music files in stead of just replacing them. You'll probably have to tinker with the program code itself.

I can see that on your map, the unknown secter between Montalaar and New Income can be bought, but how?

FYI: Manticore has an Nvidium asteroid in it (in XTM 0.7.2) - it's in the middle-ish of the sector

Nice, but there is a hidden container with 75000 credits in Ore Belt at coordinates: 10,4,52

You probably have the coordinates from the first XTM release. I have used the coordinates from XTM 0.7.2

hey how do you buy an sector like the unknown sector ????
Replied on: 20:00 08-08-2007

The Unknown Sector between Montalaar and New Income can be bought via an auction at the BBS. It takes about 5 game days for the messages to appear at BBS (at any station). You'll be offered the chance to participate once the biddings have risen to more than 600 million. So make sure to be rich
